As a government teacher, I love to draw links between today and the past. Otherwise, what is the sense of teaching history? In any case, especially in our current time of turmoil, we need people to be courageous, speak the truth, and back it up with documentation. It took much courage for Ellsberg to come forward and today, just as during the Vietnam War, we need courageous people to take the lead, regardless of the personal cost. It isn’t just about war, it is about any time our government turns its back on We the People. Now, more than ever, we need people like Ellsberg.
