Understanding the past

It has been very meaningful for me to work on this documentary release and to understand Daniel Ellsberg’s role in ending the war in Vietnam. I was a child in the ’60s, and daughter of young parents. My father, who was in the Army, returned disillusioned and forever changed, and in a very different place than HIS father, a proud WWII veteran of the Pacific theater.

It is crucial that we are able to understand the emotional, psychological, political, diplomatic, historical, economic, and hence–true–legacy of the actions taken on our behalf as a nation. If we continue to lie to our people, and I say “WE” because as an electorate, we are complicit unless we vote otherwise, the ball of confusion only compounds.

We need truth-tellers, and we need those who are willing to stand up for what is right.

Thank you, to Daniel Ellsberg, and others who put honesty and integrity before career and glory.
