why are the pentagon papers important?

The pentagon papers are important just as wikileaks are today. The importance of the government being transparent, truly transparent and realize the importance of accountability and that the government of our countries don’t have rights to do whatever they want. The government was placed to represent the people and the people should know what they are doing with regards to wars, deals with other countries, supporting coup in other countries and military spending.
Therefore, the pentagon papers and wikileaks are important in our history to remember and not lose sight of the truth.

  1. The Pentagon Papers shows how one person can make a difference. They show how if you believe in something strong enough, you would risk everything to follow through. Although Ellsberg’s actions were controversial, the papers revealed some truths about an unpopular war.
